Vintage Kuwait Folk Cabinet Made from Repurposed Crates & 7UP Sign

A wonderfully characterful piece of Kuwait-made vernacular folk furniture, likely dating to the 1970s–80s. Hand-built from reused timber, the cabinet incorporates scrap commercial packing wood, including old fruit-crate boards, while the front door retains the striking remnants of a hand-painted vintage 7UP advertising sign. Finished in its timeworn pale green paint with simple utilitarian hardware, interior shelving and a lower drawer, it is a beautiful example of resourceful local furniture making using whatever materials were readily available.

After a thorough cleaning, the cabinet has been sealed with a clear polyurethane finish to preserve its current surface, paint loss and patina without attempting to restore away its history. Measures approximately 53 × 48 × 93 cm. Wear, old repairs and irregularities are all consistent with its handmade construction and long working life.
