Vintage Japanese Lacquered Jewelry Box with Mirror

A charming vintage Japanese-style wooden jewelry box featuring a black lacquered finish with gold landscape decorations, including traditional pagodas, sailing boats, and Mount Fuji. The lid opens to reveal a mirror, a vibrant red fabric-lined interior, and two smaller compartments with decorative orange tassels. The clever tiered design provides several compartments for storing jewelry and small keepsakes.

Estimated to date from the 1960s–1980s, the box displays vintage wear, including minor chips and surface marks along the edges. Originally fitted with a musical mechanism, which no longer functions, it is now offered as a decorative jewelry and keepsake box.
