Description
A charming vintage Japanese ceramic incense burner dating to the mid-20th century. Raised on four arched feet and topped with a pierced domed lid, the piece is richly decorated with hand-painted figural scenes, raised enamel detailing, and vibrant shades of green, blue, burgundy, and gold.
Produced in Japan for the export market during the 1950s–1960s, this decorative burner reflects the colorful and highly ornamental ceramic styles that became popular worldwide in the post-war era. The pierced lid allows incense fragrance to escape while the detailed painted decoration makes it equally attractive as a display piece.
Marked "Made in Japan" on the underside, this piece offers both decorative appeal and vintage charm. A wonderful addition to a collection of Japanese ceramics, incense burners, or eclectic decorative objects.
