Vintage Indian Hand-Carved Hardwood & Glass Coffee Table

Vintage Indian hardwood coffee table featuring elaborate hand-carved floral openwork, decorative brass inlay and a carved border beneath a protective glass top. The pierced central panel gives the table wonderful depth, while the curved legs and richly detailed frame make it a striking statement piece. Likely dating to the mid-20th century.

This piece has been sympathetically salvaged and restored, with the original finish revived and completed with a hand-applied beeswax finish. A new piece of glass has also been fitted. It retains plenty of evidence of its history, including a crack to the carved wood beneath the glass, areas of missing brass inlay and other age-related imperfections. These have been intentionally preserved rather than attempting to make the table appear new.
