Vintage Chinese Silk Embroidery – Peonies & Butterfly

A beautifully framed vintage Chinese embroidered silk panel featuring blooming peonies and a delicate butterfly against a rich rust-red ground. The softly shaded blue, coral and ivory flowers are finely stitched, while the layered brocade borders and generous ivory mount give the piece a polished, substantial presence.

Likely dating from the mid-20th century, approximately the 1950s–1970s, this is a highly decorative example of Chinese textile art. The peony-and-butterfly composition feels elegant and timeless, working especially well in collected, traditional or contemporary interiors.
