First edition of Explorers of Arabia: From the Renaissance to the End of the Victorian Era by Zahra Freeth and H. V. F. Winstone, published by George Allen & Unwin in 1978. The book traces some of the most important early European travellers through Arabia, including Varthema, Joseph Pitts, Carsten Niebuhr, Burckhardt, Richard Burton, Palgrave, Doughty and the Blunts.

This copy is especially interesting for its signed presentation inscription by co-author Victor Winstone. Zahra Freeth also gives the book an important Kuwait connection: she was the daughter of H. R. P. and Violet Dickson and grew up in Kuwait, later becoming an important writer on Kuwait and the Gulf. Complete with its original illustrated dust jacket and an attractive ex libris bookplate. Vintage wear and light age-related marks are present, particularly to the jacket.
