Pair of Vintage Italian Cremasco Lantern Pendant Lights

A striking matching pair of vintage ceiling lanterns by Cremasco Illuminazione, Italy, each retaining its original maker’s label. The octagonal bodies combine warm stained wood, polished brass framework, clear glass panels and a single central bulb suspended beneath a graceful domed cage. Their elegant Italian Regency-inspired design works beautifully in an entrance hall, corridor, stairwell or positioned together over a dining table. Estimated circa 1980s, consistent with documented vintage Cremasco brass-and-glass lantern lighting from the period.

One lantern has been lovingly restored, with refreshed wood and brighter polished brass, while the other retains more of its original patina; this creates a subtle difference in tone when viewed together. Both show minor surface wear consistent with vintage use, while the glass panels appear intact. Wiring ends are exposed, so inspection and installation by a qualified electrician are recommended. Each measures approximately 67cm high x 25cm wide, including the ceiling fitting. Cremasco continues to produce traditional lantern lighting using combinations of wood, polished metal and glass, making this marked vintage pair particularly appealing.
