First edition of Leylā and Mejnūn by Fuzūlī, published in London by George Allen & Unwin in 1970 as part of the UNESCO Collection of Representative Works, Turkish Series. Translated from Turkish by Sofi Huri, with an extensive history of the poem, notes and bibliography by Alessio Bombaci.

One of the great love stories of the Islamic literary tradition, Leylā and Mejnūn has been retold for centuries across Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Azerbaijani and Urdu literature. This English-language edition presents Fuzūlī’s celebrated version of the story in verse. This copy retains its original illustrated dust jacket and includes a handwritten 1976 presentation inscription to the front free endpaper as well as a decorative ex libris bookplate. Light age-related wear is visible to the jacket, while the book itself remains clean and well preserved.
