Lavishly illustrated throughout in color, the book captures Kuwait immediately before the 1990 Iraqi invasion, making it an important visual record of the country at the end of the 1980s.

The photographs document a Kuwait that would soon be dramatically changed by war, including government buildings, commercial and urban spaces, the waterfront, Kuwait Towers, falconry, technology, modern architecture and everyday life.
