Beautiful elephant hand carved in India. The texture and condition of the finish of the piece are so attracted. The original lighter wood has been ebonized to create this nice dark coloration. Perfect in my opinion.

Chip on one of the feet. If that doesn't suit your style, you can turn the item around and the c hip is not visible.
