An important vintage volume on Kuwait, Arabia and traditional Badawin life by H. R. P. Dickson, published in London by George Allen & Unwin in 1967. Richly illustrated with photographs, drawings, maps and genealogical material, the book includes a portrait frontispiece of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Ruler of Kuwait and remains one of the major English-language works devoted to the customs, social life and traditions of Kuwait and the Arabian Peninsula.

This copy is bound in the publisher’s original terracotta cloth with gilt lettering and red spine panel. The dust jacket is absent, and there is general rubbing and wear to the cloth, particularly around the spine ends and corners. A faint “Training Centre” ownership stamp is visible on the title page. The printed crossed-flag device and Arabic name beneath it are part of the original title-page design rather than a later inscription.
