Early 20th Century Indian Turned Wood Hall Tree / Coat Stand

Description:
Tall early 20th-century Indian hall tree crafted from richly toned turned hardwood. The central column is fitted with two tiers of wooden pegs for coats, hats and bags, rising from an especially decorative four-sided base with miniature turned balustrades. A wonderfully sculptural piece that works equally well as functional entryway furniture or simply as an architectural accent.

Dating approximately 1920–1950. The wood retains an attractive aged finish with surface wear, variations in colour and evidence of old repairs consistent with its age and use.
