Description
A charming antique Japanese Satsuma porcelain tea set comprising a teapot with lid, covered sugar bowl, and matching teacup, dating to the early 20th century.
Each piece is finely hand-painted with elegant figures in traditional kimono set within tranquil landscapes, enhanced with rich gilt decoration and classic Satsuma-style enamels. The rounded forms, loop handles, and detailed scenic panels reflect the craftsmanship of Japanese export porcelain from the Taishō to early Shōwa period.
Whether displayed in a cabinet or incorporated into a collection of antique Asian ceramics, this set offers wonderful decorative presence and beautifully coordinated artwork across all three pieces.
Condition: Good antique condition overall. The teapot and teacup present well with expected age-related wear, including light rubbing to the gilt decoration. The covered sugar bowl has a chip to the rim beneath the lid (shown in photographs), which is concealed when the lid is in place. Minor wear consistent with age and careful use throughout.
Sold as a three-piece set.
Teacup: 12x5cm
Sugar Bowl: 15cm by 12cm
