A beautifully detailed antique Japanese Imari porcelain plate, which I would conservatively date to the mid-to-late 19th century, circa 1860–1890. Measuring 20.5 cm diameter, the deeply scalloped plate is densely hand-painted in traditional iron red and cobalt blue with extensive gilt detailing, featuring elaborate flowering vines surrounding three large circular auspicious medallions. The reverse is decorated with freely painted underglaze-blue motifs, adding further character and supporting its hand-produced antique construction. Particularly attractive as a wall or cabinet display piece. Material: porcelain. Condition: good antique condition with expected glaze and gilt wear, firing irregularities, a small repair on the bottom of the piece which has been professionally repaired. Not very noticeable from the front vantage point.
Wire hanger included.
