Antique Japanese Black Lacquered Playing Card Box

Description:

This piece is so special. It's a thin wooden box covered with black lacquer and gilded with gold. There is also a small inlaid mother of pearl and precious stone butterfly on the top of the piece. Truly a remarkable piece. Just a heads up, this piece does not hold large cards but seems to have been made at a time when playing cards were much smeller. You made need to search a bit for playing cards that fit. 

9cm wide, 6.5 cm deep, 9cm tall.
