A finely detailed 19th-century engraved portrait of Sultan Ibrahim Khan, after H. Lalaisse, directed by Lemaître and engraved by Chaillot. The design was published in Paris in 1840, giving the work a strong mid-19th-century context. The portrait shows the Ottoman ruler in elaborate dress and fur-trimmed robes, rendered with exceptionally fine engraved linework.
Presented in a beautiful vintage/antique Persian khatam kari frame decorated with intricate geometric marquetry in warm red, green, black and ivory tones. The frame is in distressed antique condition, with visible age-related wear and small imperfections around the edges typical of handmade and vintage khatam kari, all contributing to its character.
