A striking large-format photographic portrait of Kuwait by Polish photographer Jacek Wozniak, who worked in Kuwait from 1981 and later joined the Ministry of Information’s photographic department after liberation. Published locally by The Kuwait Bookshops Co. Ltd., Faces of Kuwait moves between traditional life, the desert, the sea, Kuwait City and the devastating aftermath of the Iraqi invasion. The book includes both black-and-white and color photography, with English and Arabic text, and a foreword by Sheikha Hussah Sabah Salem Al Sabah.

An increasingly difficult Kuwait title to find, particularly in this large hardcover format with its original dust jacket. The publisher itself is no longer in operation, and copies appear very rarely on the secondary market. This example presents well, with light age-related wear to the dust jacket.
