A scarce first edition of Zahra Freeth’s Kuwait Was My Home, published by George Allen & Unwin in 1956. Written by the daughter of H. R. P. and Violet Dickson, the book offers a personal account of Kuwait during its transformation from the pre-oil era and is illustrated with period photographs and a map. This copy retains its striking original orange pictorial dust jacket and bears a contemporary Kuwait prize inscription dated June 1957, giving it especially appealing local provenance.

Originally sourced from the United Kingdom, this copy has now made its way back to Kuwait. The dust jacket is in worn condition with fading, creasing, tears, edge losses and extensive old tape repairs, including a large repaired area along the spine. The black cloth hardcover remains present beneath, with age-related wear, toning and occasional spotting to the pages. Sold as is and as photographed.
